Cape Audio Student Spotlight – Django Flaherty
Welcome to the all new Cape Audio College Student Spotlight. Every now and then we will be featuring one of our student artists on the blog. This time round its 2nd year student Django Flaherty. Check it out!
Django Flaherty is a producer of electronic music and DJ from Cape Town, South Africa. As a DJ with an eclectic music collection, he has been known to play for six hours straight, both on the dancefloor and at functions requiring ambiance. With sets spanning electro swing, funky breaks and dubstep, recent highlights include Fiction, the Octopus Garden (St. James) and the House of Kink (city bowl).
As a musician and beatmaker, he’s had two remixes released digitally (as The Simplicity Project), and played drums in local bands such as The Problematiques in 2007 and 2008. This year he aims to expand his DJ sets to include more of his original music, incorporating it as a live performance.
