College Student working with Freshly Ground

Xolani and Justin

A few months ago Keith Farquharson, Freshly Ground‘s live and studio engineer, invited four of our students to job shadow in his studio. One of those students, Justin Ash, currently doing 2nd year at Cape Audio College, was chosen by Keith to help him out on a semi regular basis.

Two weeks ago Justin had the opportunity to run a recording of a group of traditional African session musos in Keiths studio. Last week Justin was called up to come help out with Freshly Ground’s recording of the Micheal Jackson cover “You wana be starting something” for their Christmas Hits album soon to be released.

Justin was happy to see he was going to be working on an Audient ASP8024 and and ProTools HD1 system, just like what we have at Cape Audio College! Keith has been very happy with Justin’s work and has invited him to come sit in on the mixing session sometime next week.

Good work Justin, keep at it!!!
