Cape Audio College Lecturers receive official Pro Tools Instructor’s certification at Pinewood Studios.

Pro Tools by AVID is the worlds leading professional audio production software and hardware system. As a digital audio workstation it has been used to create countless albums, Hollywood movie  soundtracks, video, TV broadcast and general audio productions. The event has kicked off with representatives from S.E.G.M.A demonstrating some fantastic new units from AVID, the makers of Pro Tools digital audio workstation software and Hardware. AVID Pro Audio Tour at Cape Audio College. Register Now!!

The Cape Audio College are very proud to be hosting the Official AVID Pro Audio Tour. Pro Tools Workshops will be hosted at the Cape Audio College, providing demonstrations for audio dealers and users alike.  On Thursday the 19th of July, the AVID team will be pulling into our brand new auditorium to present the latest in  Pro Tools technology. On show will be a demonstration of the AVID C|24 controller and its integration with the new Pro Tools 10 digital audio workstation platform. Excursion to Bellville Studios

Last week Friday, the Cape Audio College course director, Gaston Roulstone, was asked to head through to Bellville Studios to help Theo Crous with some technical issues he was having in his studio, so Gaston organized two Cape Audio College students to join him, giving them the opportunity to chat with South Africa’s biggest selling rock producer. The next official Cape Audio College open day is coming soon. Yes, on Saturday the 10th of September Cape Audio College will be opening its doors to one and all. So if you’re interested in finding out more about Cape Audio College, the programs offered, or just the exciting possibilities within the the audio industry in general, you better come and check it out. January intake AV project

The Cape Audio January intake have been given their first AV assignment. They have to choose one of two 3 minute long video clips provided, either an action scene from the feature film ‘Hellboy 2′ or an equally exiting clip based on the ‘Halo’ computer game series.

For this particular assignment the students have access to professional sound sample libraries consisting of thousands of banks of sound effects designed to be used in audio post production work.

Pro Tools 9 has landed on our doorstep and is being installed on our many Mac’s as we speak.  Pro Tools has come a long way since the days of the 888′s and 001′s.There is no wonder why its today’s leading professional audio recording and mixing software.  And with version 9 there’s more features, more toys and more power than ever before.
