The new Higher Education Qualifications Framework (HEQF) has been designed to meet demanding challenges facing the higher education system in the 21st century. In order to align its qualifications and courses offered to the Dept. of Education's requirements, Cape Audio College has renamed and adjusted the courses offered as follows; The Diploma in Audio Engineering, will now become a 3 year course. An additional 2 courses will be introduced, namely, Higher Certificate in Audio Engineering (1 year) and Advanced Certificate in Audio Engineering (1 year).
